How would you describe your experience working with Jesus and Jonathan through the Corporate Work Study Program?
It was a true pleasure to work with Jesus and Jonathan during their senior year. They approached every assignment with curiosity and determination, and their growth over the course of the year was remarkable. Our focus from the beginning was to help them build both technical skills and soft skills that are essential in any corporate setting.

What kind of work did they do during their time at Comcast?
Jesus and Jonathan were introduced to a wide range of concepts and tools. They were trained in Atlassian Confluence, our primary documentation tool, and ended up contributing to over 50 internal pages used by our Lines of Business and Scrum Teams. One standout project was a policy page they initiated on Microsoft Teams usage, which has already led to more consistent and efficient collaboration across our team.

They were also exposed to tools and ideas such as Git, the Software Development LifeCycle, open-source concepts, and even Artificial Intelligence. Their final project, “Future is AI,” involved a presentation and website that used AI tools to identify fruit origins and trace family name history. They pulled it together in just two weeks and completely impressed our team.

How did you help prepare them for professional success beyond high school?
We began with soft skills—how to craft an elevator pitch, understand task prioritization, and navigate corporate environments effectively. We also had intentional discussions about the roles of leaders versus managers, the importance of taking responsibility, and how to collaborate across departments like finance, security, and legal.

We wanted them to understand not just what people do in a company like Comcast, but how and why they do it. By the end of the year, they could speak knowledgeably about roles like architect, engineer, analyst, product owner, and scrum master.

What did Jesus and Jonathan bring to your organization?
Fresh perspective, creativity, and a hunger to learn. Their contributions weren’t just student-level tasks, they added real value. Their Microsoft Teams policy page is still saving us time today. And their final retrospective presentation was so insightful, it rivaled what you'd hear from full-time employees.

Would you recommend the CWSP partnership to other companies?
Absolutely. CWSP isn’t just about giving back, it’s about gaining from the energy and insight these students bring. They’re driven, curious, and capable. We’re proud to have had Jesus and Jonathan on our team this year, and I’m confident they’ll go far.
