CWSP Spotlight: Climb Credit Union

Climb Credit Union & Arrupe Jesuit: Empowering Students Through Corporate Work Study

At Arrupe Jesuit High School, our Corporate Work Study Program (CWSP) is built on strong partnerships with organizations that believe in investing in young talent. We are especially grateful to highlight Climb Credit Union, a dedicated partner since 2013, who continues to mentor and empower our students. This year alone, Climb supports seven Arrupe students, including two serving as bank tellers, providing meaningful, hands-on experience in a professional financial setting.

Cynthia currently supports Climb’s Innovation Department, where she assists in creating and updating procedures while providing project support as needed. Through her work, she helps ensure documentation remains clear, organized, and up to date—all while gaining hands-on experience in a professional setting. It’s meaningful, real-world work that is helping her grow both personally and professionally.

Climb chose to partner with Arrupe because they see the importance of introducing students to the workplace early in their careers. Their supportive and collaborative culture is eager to mentor, share knowledge, and build confidence in students as they transition into professional environments. That intentional investment shows in the experience Cynthia has received.

Her supervisor shared:

“I have seen so much growth in Cynthia, and I am incredibly proud of all that she has accomplished. I’m proud to see how she has connected her work experience here with her academic goals. Watching her grow professionally has been incredibly rewarding, and I’m grateful to be part of her journey.”

Since beginning at Climb, Cynthia has demonstrated tremendous growth in her confidence, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities. She has become more comfortable asking thoughtful questions, taking ownership of her responsibilities, and applying what she learns in the classroom to real workplace projects.

The impact goes both ways. Climb shared that hiring an Arrupe student has positively influenced their team culture. Explaining and refining internal processes has helped their team work more intentionally, while Cynthia brings fresh perspective and insightful questions that encourage innovation.

Climb’s mission is to financially empower their members’ life journeys, and that same commitment extends to their intern program. By providing meaningful learning opportunities and professional mentorship, they are helping students develop real-world skills and prepare for future careers—just as they do for their members.

When asked what advice they would give to other companies considering partnering with Arrupe, Climb shared: be open to teaching, mentoring, and truly investing in the student experience. The reward is not only supporting students early in their careers, but also gaining motivated team members who bring new ideas and energy to the workplace.

One of their favorite moments? Watching Cynthia work through challenges independently, think critically, and arrive at thoughtful conclusions before asking for help. She has become a true part of the team—someone they can collaborate with and trust.

We are deeply grateful to Climb Credit Union for their continued partnership and their meaningful investment in Cynthia and our students. It is partnerships like these that make the Arrupe Corporate Work Study Program transformative—not just for students, but for the organizations that walk alongside them.

Thank you, Climb, for believing in our students and helping them climb toward bright futures.
