At Arrupe Jesuit, we believe that the right people in the right roles can ignite the potential of the greater community. Today, we are proud to share that Chris Freeburg has been named the new Executive Director of the Corporate Work Study Program.
For the past eight years, Chris has poured himself into the Arrupe Jesuit community, first as a Science Teacher and Blended Learning Coach, and most recently as Dean of Students. In every role, he has been exactly the kind of educator and leader our students need: rigorous and supportive, strategic and deeply human. He has helped shape a school culture built on high expectations and high support, implemented data-informed intervention systems to support student academic and socio-emotional outcomes, and invested in the partnerships with families that are at the heart of everything we do.
"For the past eight years, Chris Freeburg has worked tirelessly on behalf of Arrupe's students and has partnered thoughtfully with our families. In the classroom and in the Dean's office, Chris has consistently provided students with meaningful opportunities for growth, as students and as people. Creative, brilliant, and with a passion for learning, I know Chris will serve with distinction as the Executive Director of Work Study.” — Michael O'Hagan, President, Arrupe Jesuit High School
What makes Chris uniquely prepared for this role goes beyond his time at Arrupe. He is a mission-driven leader with a proven track record of building partnerships and programs from the ground up. In Syracuse, New York, he developed a pioneering four-year Forensic Science Career and Technical Education program — the first of its kind in New York State — building partnerships with universities, law enforcement agencies, and industry professionals along the way. He is also a licensed Realtor, an extension of his passion for empowering others to achieve their goals. Chris brings a sharp entrepreneurial perspective and real-world experience investing in client relationships that drive value for everyone. His track record cultivating partnerships and generating revenue will serve CWSP exceptionally well as we grow our employer partner base and increase meaningful opportunities for our students.
Chris holds a Master's degree in Teaching and a Bachelor of Science in Biology and International Development from Santa Clara University. He is currently participating in the Seminars in Ignatian Leadership, a two-year formation program for Jesuit educational leaders. He is also bilingual in Spanish, an asset that will deepen our ability to serve students and families across our community.
Chris served with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps Northwest, spending a year at St. Labre Indian Catholic School serving the Northern Cheyenne and Crow tribes, a formative experience that directly influenced his decision to enter the classroom
“Vocation is the intersection where our gifts and passions meet the world's deepest needs. The Corporate Work Study Program provides unique opportunities for students to fulfill their potential and share their unique talents with the broader Denver community. That students strengthen their corporate teams while earning over $3 million dollars to empower a college-prep education is a testament to what our students make possible. I am grateful for this opportunity to serve Arrupe Jesuit High School, our students, and their families.” - Chris Freeburg
The Corporate Work Study Program is one of the most distinctive and powerful elements of an Arrupe Jesuit education. We look forward to continued programmatic growth as we provide increased access for students and more opportunities for new corporate partners. Please join us in welcoming Chris to this new role and in celebrating everything he has already given to this community.
Congratulations, Chris. We are proud to have you lead the way.
