Board of Trustees Spotlight: Griffen O’Shaughnessy

Arrupe Jesuit is excited to welcome Griffen O’Shaughnessy to our Board of Trustees. A lifelong Colorado resident, Griffen grew up in Greenwood Village and attended Cherry Creek High School before heading to Goshen College, where she earned her degree in Accounting.

Her career began at Arthur Andersen, where she earned her CPA, and continued with a shift into law at American University. Griffen then joined the mergers & acquisitions group at Holland & Hart, where she had the opportunity to work alongside Arrupe students, an experience that planted the seeds for her future connection to our mission.

In 2010, shortly after welcoming her first child, Griffen founded Canopy Advisory Group, a company designed to provide professional expertise on a flexible basis. This venture allowed her to balance the work she loved with being present for her growing family. Her commitment to community service has been equally impactful, with leadership roles on the boards of Scholars Unlimited, Girls, Inc., and as president of her neighborhood association for many years.

Griffen’s dedication to education continues to grow as she supports her own three children through their school journeys. “I believe that education is the greatest gift and the best way to support someone’s future,” she shares. “There are so many stories of incredible resilience here at Arrupe Jesuit.”

Arrupe Jesuit President Michael O’Hagan shares, “We are thrilled to welcome Griffen to Arrupe Jesuit’s Board of Trustees. Griffen brings to the school a wealth of experience, a deep dedication to education, and a shared commitment to the values that guide our mission. Arrupe looks forward to working with Griffen as we continue to provide exceptional opportunities for our students to grow academically, in their faith, and in their work readiness skills.”

She’s especially inspired by the Corporate Work Study Program, which she sees as vital in today’s world: “Real-world work experience is often more valuable than what students learn in their school subjects. In today’s AI-driven world, what truly sets students apart is their interpersonal skills and ability to be creative and problem solve. The Corporate Work Study Program strengthens all of these invaluable skills and provides a meaningful way for organizations to give back.”

Looking ahead, Griffen is eager to connect with students, faculty, and fellow board members: “I am thrilled to join the board of Arrupe as my passion lies in education and supporting all students on their growth trajectory. I also love how the Corporate Work Study Program allows real relationships to form between the students and the corporate sponsors, this is such a win for both groups!”

Please join us in welcoming Griffen O’Shaughnessy to the Arrupe Jesuit Board of Trustees!
