In a historical milestone, Arrupe Jesuit High School is proud to announce that 12 seniors from its Class of 2025 have been named Daniels Scholars, bringing the school’s all-time total to 100 scholars, which is more than any school in the history of the Daniels Fund Scholarship Program.
Among this year’s honorees is Diego Melgar, who plans to attend Yale University in the fall. For Diego, the Daniels Scholarship represents more than financial support, it’s a vote of confidence in what’s possible.
“"To receive the Daniels Scholarship is the catalyst of my educative and professional career beyond high school; thanks to the Daniels Fund's generosity, I will be able to dedicate myself more fully to increasing both my intellectual and social capabilities to a level I wouldn't have been able to without the support of the Daniels Fund." - Diego Melgar, Class of 2025 Daniels Scholar
This milestone comes as the Daniels Fund celebrates its 25th anniversary, having awarded over $275 million in scholarships to more than 5,400 students across Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming since its inception. This year, 230 high school seniors, including 156 from Colorado, were selected for the prestigious award, which can provide up to $100,000 over four years or full cost of attendance at partner schools across the country.
The Daniels Scholarship is one of the most selective and sought-after college scholarships in the nation. Recipients are chosen based on strength of character, leadership potential, commitment to serving their communities, academic achievement, and financial need—values that deeply align with Arrupe Jesuit’s mission.
Since 2003, Arrupe Jesuit has focused on transforming the lives of students with limited economic resources through its rigorous academics, Jesuit formation, and unique Corporate Work Study Program (CWSP). The Daniels Scholarship has played a vital role in helping the school fulfill its mission of preparing first-generation college-bound students to thrive in higher education and beyond.
“Arrupe Jesuit is thrilled to know that, through the support of the Daniels Fund, these 12 seniors have earned the opportunity to pursue their college dreams at the university of their choosing. We celebrate the brilliance of our students and give thanks to the Daniels Scholarship Program for creating a path where so many deserving students can work to build a better tomorrow.” - Michael O’Hagan, President of Arrupe Jesuit High School
